The 7th Annual SF Sketchfest Presents
AN EVENING WITH DR. KATZ PROFESSIONAL THERAPIST AND PATIENTS
Everyone knows comedians have “issues,” but thankfully help is on the way when comedian/writer/producer Jonathan Katz returns to the couch for two rare evenings of comic therapy with guest patients Bob Odenkirk, Maria Bamford, Brian Posehn and his animated son, Ben, played by Jon Benjamin. They may not end up feeling better about life, but you will. (Check out Saturday night's show for more guests.)
Jonathan Katz co-created and starred in the hit animated series Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, which ran for six seasons on Comedy Central, winning an Emmy, a Peabody and two Cable Ace Awards.
About the 'Patients'
Bob Odenkirk is best known as one-half of the HBO’s sketch phenom Mr. Show which he co-created and starred in with David Cross. He has written for Saturday Night Live, was an original cast member of The Ben Stiller Show, and has directed several big-screen comedies including Melvin Goes to Dinner, Let’s Go To Prison!, and The Brothers Solomon. TV appearances include Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiams and The Larry Sanders Show. He was the spokesperson for Miller Beer in their electoral-themed commercial campaign to be the “President of Beers” during the 2004 elections, and executive produced Adult Swim’s Tom Goes to the Mayor. He directs the Super Deluxe series Derek & Simon and several of his short films can be seen there.
What 37-year old comedian stars in her own web sitcom on SuperDeluxe.com, stars in the Comedy Central series The Comedians of Comedy Tour (as well as in the independent film of the same title out on NETFLIX), is in Variety's TOP TEN COMICS TO WATCH, has been the talk of Montreal, Edinburgh, Aspen, Kilkenny and Melbourne Comedy Festivals and was voted by Comedy Central viewers as one of their Top Ten Favorite Comics?
ME! MARIA BAMFORD! That's who, sweetpeas! Maria returns to SF Sketchfest for the second year in a row. Yep…in a row.
A Comedian of Comedy from...Comedians of Comedy, you may remember Brian Posehn from HBO’s Mr. Show, Comedy Central’s The Sarah Silverman Program, or maybe you recall his stint as Kevin on Just Shoot Me. Or it could be his additional voice work from Disney’s Brother Bear. But most likely the other ones. Brian returns to SF Sketchfest for the second time.
