“One of the most important showcases for contemporary guitar” --San Francisco Chronicle

An Evening of International Guitar, featuring Brian Gore (US), Miguel de la Bastide (Trinidad), Clive Carroll (England), and D’Gary (Madagascar), will take place Thursday, Feb 7, 2008 at 7PM at the Sebastopol Community Center at 390 Morris St, Sebastopol, and is presented by Cumulus Presents in conjunction with the Sebastopol Community Center. The International Guitar Night is an extraordinary annual tour that brings together the world’s foremost acoustic guitarists to exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. The concept originated in Europe, and was brought to the United States by BRIAN GORE, one of the most interesting and influential performers of "the next generation" in fingerstyle guitar, from San Francisco, Ca.

Brian invites a new cast of three internationally renowned guitarists to join him on each tour for an evening of solos, duets and quartets, to highlight the virtuosity and diversity within the world of acoustic guitar. Brian will be joined by D’GARY, renowned World Music guitarist and singer from Madagascar. According to David Lindley (the American producer who helped compile the seminal Madagascan music album "A World Out Of Time"), D'Gary is ‘a monster guitarist!’ And, if you think that's an exaggeration, just take a listen to the unique open-tuned style of Madagascar's guitar wizard!

Also joining Brian will be CLIVE CARROLL, England’s finest young fingerstyle guitarist who was recently described as “the best and most original young acoustic guitar player and composer in Britain” (Acoustic Guitar Magazine).

MIGUEL DE LA BASTIDE, Nuevo Flamenco master from Toronto via Trinidad and Spain completes the third virtuoso invited by Brian to perform on this extraordinary evening. An incredible soloist, Bastide has been involved with flamenco for over 25 years, and possesses a rare combination of explosive technique with a unique sensitivity to the flamenco dance and song.

This extraordinary evening is a rare opportunity to see virtuosity at its best. It is a show not to be missed!!
