Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti and Women in Film/ LA International Committee proudly invites you to join us in our upcoming event, A Focus on International Short Films: An Evening of Haitian Filmmaking, to be held Sunday, October 14th, 2007, from reception at 6:00pm to 9:00pm (reception at 5:00pm) at Barnsdall Gallery Theatre.

This exciting night will be the first of its kind for the Haitian and Caribbean communities in Los Angeles, and is sure to draw a large and diverse crowd. We will explore the history and culture of Haiti beyond its well-publicized image of poverty and political turmoil, to its recognition as a source of beauty and inspiration that touches artists and communities around the world.
