The Valley Concert Chorale will present An Afternoon with Gilbert and Sullivan on Sunday, November 8, at 3 pm, in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church in Livermore. The church is located at 4th and L streets.
This event, featuring a performance by the Valley Concert Chorale of choral arrangements from well-known Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, is the chorale's major fundraiser for the 2009-2010 season. Featured operettas included HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, Mikado, Iolanthe, Yeoman of the Guard, Ruddigore, and Princess Ida.
Guests will enjoy traditional British tea treats such as tarts, scones, finger sandwiches, and cakes and beverages, as well as have an opportunity to win raffle prizes.
"This event is a fundraiser to help keep our fine chorus running," says Bill Leach, VCC's Board Vice President. "With the lively and humorous music of Gilbert and Sullivan combined with our raffle for great prizes, it promises to be a fun afternoon." Raffle prizes include a two-night stay at a mountain cabin above Lake Donner, dinner and tickets to local performing arts groups' performances and much more.
Seating is limited so advance ticket purchase is highly advised. Call (925) 866-4003 to order.
$35.

I try it in a few english words: Can anyone explain me why nobody deletes the masses of comment-spam and stupid links in this article? If the links posted here were at least funny I wouldn't say anything ...
It's up to you and everyone else to report it, through collective action it will get deleted. Perhaps the best thing is to report on the accounts that are creating the spam, rather than this entry itself.
Single-Unterhaltung, we try to get to all these, but sometimes they slip through. Just drop us a line in feedback and we'll take care of it.
A while ago, I heard abou a similar event upcoming in Germany, but I don't know the details anymore. Does anybody know something about it? I think it was also a blogger lunch in Berlin or Munich.
Michael I think it was in berlin, but can't find any details either.
