AN 18th CENTURY AFFAIR Bach, Handel, Haydn & Mozart September 22, 2007

We open the Vancouver Chamber Choir’s 37th subscription season with a gala festive concert featuring four of music’s greatest masters. Under Jon Washburn’s direction, the Choir and the CBC Radio Orchestra perform Handel’s showpiece Dixit Dominus, Haydn’s elegant Missa Sancti Nicolai and the JS Bach doublechoir motet Der Geist hilft. As a special treat, Joanna G’froerer (Principal Flute of the National Arts Centre Orchestra) joins Jon and the orchestra for Mozart’s G Major Flute Concerto. A wonderful evening of 18th century music in the superb acoustics of the Chan Centre!
