Driven by her honest lyrics, Amy Bleu's songs speak from the darkest and brightest spots of the human heart. Her music speaks to its listeners personally; it is not background music. She describes her style as "anti-folk folk": it's not quite punk enough for anti-folk, and not soft enough for traditional bluegrass. She has been compared to Kristin Hersh and Ani DiFranco, both of whom she has drawn inspiration from.
