AMODA PRESENTS PERFORMANCES BY KEITH ROWE AND RICK REED

Keith Rowe (U.K./France), ex-AMM member and progenitor of electroacoustic improvisation, returns to Austin with his tabletop guitar and bag of preparations for another séance of mind bending sound. Joining him will be long time friend and collaborator Rick Reed (Austin) on EMS Synthesizer and sine wave generators. The two will be fresh off their most recent East coast tour performing together as 'the Voltage Spooks.'
Rowe and Reed will each perform solo sets, and will also perform as a duo.

Rowe has been called a "godfather of
electroacoustic improvisation" and a "master of understatement." He has worked for half a lifetime to unsettle the boundaries between music and noise. He has also been an active collaborator, having worked together with numerous composers and musicians, including Cornelius Cardew, Christian Wolff, Howard Skempton, Taku Sugimoto, Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, Oren Ambarchi, Christian Fennesz and Peter Rehberg.
