American String Quartet April 14, 2009

The American String Quartet has achieved a position of rare esteem in the world of chamber music. On annual tours that have included virtually every important concert hall in 10 European countries and across North America, the Quartet has won critical acclaim for its presentations of the complete quartets of Beethoven, Schubert, Schoenberg, Bartok and Mozart. The Quartet won both the Coleman Competition and the Naumburg Award. It has been the resident quartet at the Aspen Music Festival since 1974 and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York since 1984.
