?American Opal Glass? - Dean Kjerland presents a special encore showing of ArtOnWater's collection of decorative opalescent art glass pieces at the gallery thru July.

Background: In the late 19th Century both color and opalescence had been introduced by American stained glassmakers. Their clients were the most respected studios in the country, most notably Tiffany and LaFarge.

Pioneering opal glass manufacturer, Kokomo, from Indiana, won a Gold Medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle, in Paris, for his American glass including a mixed sheet in red, white and blue, which had survived the sea voyage.

Today, the chemistry and process controls are well understood and fine rolled opalescent ?Tiffany? glass is available to stained glass artists who isolate small sections of the raw panels for incorporation in their leaded window designs, often using pieces from dozens of raw panels.

This exhibition shows various concepts for displaying larger sections of the raw opal panels as decorative art in homes and businesses. Enjoy the exhibit and please inquire about prices and custom framing.

The exhibit includes frame able decorative art panels, framed wall pieces, window art, and lighted displays of beautiful opalescent glass (from the imagination of the gallery proprietor).
