In ACO's second concert of the season, composer Margaret Brouwer and experimental video artist Kasumi come together in their first collaboration, synthesizing film and sound in an abstract, no-holds-barred narrative flow that reveals "nothing less than the eternal tale of ambition, arrogance, and fall of empire." Electronic-music guru Rand Steiger draws inspiration from the Earth's glaciers and icebergs. Fang Man, a composer sure to become a major force in orchestral music, offers music inspired by a Kandinsky painting. Kati Agocs displays her "nimble imagination" and "striking approach" (New York Times). Veteran David Schiff reimagines his homage to James Brown in his rhythmically driving Stomp (re-lit).
