A group of works from the permanent collection will demonstrate some important concerns about aesthetics and content by artists working in the first half of the 20th century, including social realism, abstract expressionism and geometric abstraction. The exhibition will include some recent acquisitions and works not often shown that will demonstrate some of the many shifts in direction that art took between 1900 and 1960.
