America Recycles Community Engaged Learning Date November 9, 2011

This event will be an 8-hour day filled with service learning for 20 freshman on campus. The day will begin with a conversation about what the students perceive our college's recycling efforts to be, followed by shadowing custodial personnel. They will gather recycling bags from the receptacles along our most trafficked buildings and conduct a waste audit of all the trash and other materials found in the recycling bins. They will then have lunch and a recycling training done by TCNJ's Environmental Programs Specialist, Amanda Radosti. They will then separate into groups and create flyers to post on campus using the photos and information they gathered throughout the day. Finally, after getting the flyers approved, they will go around campus posting their flyers.
