Formerly resident choreographer with Ballett Frankfurt, Amanda Miller founded her company in 1993. Her work stands out for its imaginative use of wit and her ability to project vital energy into her choreography. Miller's work has a physicality that is both lush, plain and flows with constant ease.

Her re-creation of one of the most romantic ballets ever staged delves deep into the extreme emotions experienced by a woman so in love, she could die.

Set to the original Adolphe Adam score, Miller's Giselle remains true to the original story of a peasant girl's unrequited love for a prince. At the same time, Miller examines her own relationship with the ballet tradition, making her approach to this quintessential love story a reflection upon a lost world overflowing with the ideals of romanticism.

'Those who know Giselle will appreciate just how fine Miller's achievement is. All the others are going to experience the profound layers of this tragedy and learn how to comprehend one of the main pillars of Romanticism. The future of ballet is located here.' FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG
