In their fourth annual collaboration, Common Ground Theatre (CGT) and the St. Paul Cathedral Center for the Performing and Visual Arts present Amahl and the Night Visitors. This enchanting tale about an imaginative disabled shepherd boy, his impoverished mother, and a magical visit from the star-guided Three Wise Men, has been an American favorite for over fifty years. This holiday season, it is being produced for the stage by Artistic Director Floyd Gaffney and Musical Director Michael Morgan.

The production opens at St. Paul’s Cathedral in the Great Hall, 2728 6th Avenue, San Diego and runs November 30, December 1-3, and December 14-17, Thursday – Saturday. Curtain is at 8:00Pm and Sunday Matinees are at 2:30 Pm. General Admission tickets are $25.00 and $18.00 for students, seniors and active military.

Past collaborations between St.Paul’s Cathedral and Common Ground Theatre have been Langston Hughes’ Black Nativity, The Soulful Messiah, and Gospel at Colonus. This heart-warming opera, written in English by Italian composer, Gian- Carlo Menotti, first premiered Christmas Eve, 1951 by the NBC Television Theatre. The one act, one-hour opera, appeals to all ages, faiths and musical backgrounds.
