APE, the Alternative Press Expo returns to The Concourse Exhibition Center at 620 7th Street in San Francisco on April 21 and 22, 2007. The nation’s largest show devoted to alternative and self-published comics had over 4,500 attendees in 2006. APE will show showcase comics legend art spiegelman, Francoise Mouly, Hope Larson and Bryan Lee O’Malley as special guests, with more to come!

This was absolutely amazing. I dropped $200 on three bags full of alternative comics, and still wanted to spend more. The best thing is that you're handing money directly to these brilliant creative people. I got nearly everything I bought signed. Amazing.

If you're thinking about going to this, do. It's a great time. This year it manages to overlap with an anniversary and the Cherry Blossom Festival for me, so I'll probably miss it. Sadness!
