The National Memorial Arboretum is hosting a week of events beginning on Monday 22 June, with a flag-raising ceremony to launch the festivities, and finishing with Armed Forces Day on Saturday 27 June 2009.
Events for all ages run throughout the week with a special focus each day and performances from top entertainers such as Company B, Ting Tang Theatre, Lola Lamour, and many more. There’s even a chance to practice polishing your shoes at the Punch Shoe Shine Corner or release a balloon in remembrance and celebration of Britain’s Armed Forces.
The centrally-located National Memorial Arboretum, home to the striking Armed Forces Memorial, comprises 150 acres of trees and memorials devoted to the theme of remembrance. It is free to enter and situated near Lichfield and within the National Forest in Staffordshire.
