All-Day “Barack The Block” Rally!
Madison, Wisconsin, October 2008 – Conceived by a small group of community members, "Barack The Block" is an all-day political rally that follows the great tradition of Madison block parties. Coming to the 100 block of East Mifflin, just off the Square, from 11am-6pm on Saturday, Oct. 18th, "Barack the Block" brings live performances and local & national speakers who plan to entertain, as well as inform.
Popular bands, such as Dick the Bruiser, Rob DZ, Tony Brown, Primitive Culture and Bob Westfall Band will be performing — along with local celebrity, John Urban, as the host. Open, and free, to the public, those attending will also be able to get voting information, talk to the staff about Obama/Biden
policies, sign up to volunteer and / or make a donation.
Café MontMartre, who will be offering food, along with other local restaurants, sponsors the event. Other area businesses have also contributed their services. Visit www.baracktheblock.com
