In this September 15th class (starting at 7 p.m.), we’ll learn about the huge variety of hummingbirds in the Western Hemisphere. We’ll learn about their migration seasons, local species, and some of the unusual characteristics that make hummingbirds unique including their ability to hover in mid-air and fly backwards like a helicopter. A Saturday morning (9-11 a.m.) field trip will involve studying hummingbirds here at the Arboretum during the height of fall Migration.
