Alberto Vargas is the man who created the pin-up girl image that first gained fame during WWII in the pages of Esquire Magazine, then Playboy Magazine in the '60s.

We're celebrating 25 years of Vargas representation here at SFAE. We were the first gallery in the world to pull together a Vargas retrospective back in 1985, and now we're doing it again. This time we're pulling art from private collectors including the Playboy Collection and the Max Vargas Estate. Not only are we celebrating 25 years of SFAE working with Vargas, we're also celebrating with Playboy Magazine - it's been 50 years since Vargas' paintings and drawings first appeared in the magazine. Come celebrate with us in memory of Alberto Vargas on the evening of November 13.

This event will reach capacity so please RSVP here or to [email protected] so you don't get stuck at the door!
