Alan Funk: Introducing Alan Funk!
Formed in September 2005, Alan Funk is an 8 piece South African Funk band. They are named after their close friend and mentor Alan. The music of Alan funk can be described as African Funk with jazzy overtones?the music is dance orientated with a festive party kick. The bands influences are diverse, Funk, rock, Jazz and African music. Each member of the band has different tastes and backgrounds. These multiple influences show that with Alan Funk it?s all about not living in a bubble?

The Ancestors: The Ancestors are an eclectic performance ensemble. Their anarchic energy focuses on untraditional African music, unembarrassed, apolitically correct lyrics and concept entertainment. They are exhibitionists and whirling dervishes on stage. The Ancestors are back from the grave, reincarnated into the lithe young bodies of Budi, Kholeho, Joshua, Simon, John and Joseph. They originally formed 20 years ago in Joburg and have grown in musical talent along their path to Cape Town.
The Ancestors are calling.
