ZACCHO DANCE THEATRE & 3RD ST YOUTH CENTER & CLINIC SLIP INTO THE WELL OF DREAMS WITH NEWLY COMMISSIONED WORK AL POZZO DI SOGNO

Geyserville, Aug 5- Zaccho Dance Theatre and 3rd St Youth Center & Clinic are pleased to announce the premiere of an original fairy tale, Al Pozzo Di Sogno (Into the Well of Dreams) on October 8th & 9th 2011 at Oliver Ranch, in Sonoma wine country. Commissioned by Oliver Ranch Foundation, Choreographer Joanna Haigood's Al Pozzo Di Sogno is inspired by Ann Hamilton's extraordinary eighty-foot Tower. The performance will include dance-theater and aerial dance, and will travel through parts of the ranch's renowned art installations before arriving at the tower. Audience members will enjoy a day filled with award winning artistry, scenic pleasures and more, followed by a reception hosted by Williamson Wines in downtown Geyserville. Proceeds from the performances will benefit Zaccho Dance Theatre (Oct 8th) & 3rd St Youth Center & Clinic's (Oct 9th) work in Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco.

Haigood's creative work uses natural, architectural and cultural environments as a point of departure for movement exploration and narrative. Haigood's works involve in-depth research into the history and the character of sites and often integrate aerial flight and suspension as a way of expanding dancers' spatial and dynamic range.

Performances will be given both Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9 at 11:00am-1:00pm. A reception hosted by Williamson Wines will immediately follow each performance. Access to event is by shuttle bus only. Guests will park and be picked up at Williamson Wines, 21001 Geyserville Ave, Geyserville, CA 95441.
