Woo, boy, I'm excited about this. I got to see Al give a pep talk/stand-up performance to a group of Minnesota DFL volunteers a few days after Paul Wellstone died: we were there to pitch in for Fritz Mondale's failed attempt to save the Paul's campaign (I'm not DFL, I came up from Chicago). At any rate, everyone was understandably sad, and Paul's son David was there, too, but Al gave a great speech, funny and angry and impassioned, really got everyone in good spirits. I've always liked Al, but he became a hero that day.
