Born in Syracuse, NY, and reared in Zimbabwe, Akim Ndlovu left his cultural homeland to come to New York in 1990. Inspired by his surroundings, he was motivated to find a creative way to live; so he began performing in parks and on the street. The vocalist and wordsmith has explored and studied dance in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bali and France - no doubt using those findings to enhance his performances that have been described as "what a global village carnival might look like."
