AIMS Press Release: AIMS invites you to join us at the AIMS Super Saturday #3 - AUGUST...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- ANDERSON, INDIANA: The next Super Saturdays will take place Saturday, AUGUST 4, 2007. AIMS began the AIMS SUPER SATURDAYS series in Downtown Anderson in June 2007, and will continue the 1st Saturday in September & October 2007. The day will begin @ 9:00 am with a Farmer’s Market and continue with a variety of Vendors and Light entertainment on the stage. There will be a Car Show and a DJ at 5:00pm and a Free Concert beginning at 8:00pm each night. Bring your lawn chairs, listen to the entertainment, shop, visit, see all of the cars, trucks and motorcycles, and enjoy beautiful downtown Anderson!! There will be plenty of fun, food, children’s activities and entertainment in the Anderson Town Center and along Meridian Street throughout the day.

Vendors 10-5+pm & Farmer’s Market 9-11am: “More Produce”!! AIMS has obtained an additional farmer, in addition to Ousley’s Harvest Gardens truck, will be Randy Marsh with two trucks of produce as well. Vendors will have a variety of ‘home-grown’ items ranging from melons, tomatoes, sweet corn, cantaloupe, etc. for the community to purchase. AIMS has over 30 vendors again in August that will begin selling their goods by 10:00 am and proceed until at least 5:00 pm, some maybe longer. There will be a variety of vendors ranging from artists, businesses, health, foods, retail, crafts, and business recruitment booth, etc.

Entertainment & Activities, throughout the day:
§ LJ Mechem Band, 9-11am or Noon - 2pm, unconfirmed at press time
§ Lee’s Theatrical Performers, 3-5pm, will feature kids skits, pianist Wes Miller and

ROOM236 Band.

§ DG the DJ or Chris the Crazy White Boy, 5-8pm, will be playing your favorite songs from 50’s &

60’s.

§ Councilman Kato Smith Ice Cream Social, 5-8, will be hosting an ice cream featuring ice

cream by Good’s Candy. Special guest, Victoria Tomlinson, Miss Indiana Teen USA 2007 will be available for autographs.

§ Elk’s #209 Drug Awareness Trailer, Experience impairments that drugs and alcohol may cause through

simulated activities.

§ Car Show, 5-8 pm, DG the DJ or Chris the Crazy White Boy will be hosting the Car Show. Awards

and dash plaques available for registered custom cars, trucks and motorcycles. Dash plaques will be distributed to the first registered cars/trucks/ cycles. Top awards for registered custom cars, trucks and motorcycles. Car Show Registration -$5.00 (entry fee for cars to be judged for Awards), 50/50 drawings…

§ World War 2 1944 GMC truck Restored, and some parts were made right here in Anderson’s Delco

Remy plants during the war.

§ Free Concert, 8-11pm: There will be a Free Concert featuring the Da Second Time Around

Band on Town Center Stage to conclude the evening under the stars at every Super Saturday for the whole family.
