Rewiring WIRED Magazine

A conversation with Scott Dadich, Creative Director of WIRED Magazine
For 15 years, WIRED has chronicled the rise of digital culture and the impact of technology on science, business, and society.

A pioneer in print design, the magazine that made the newsstand safe for neon inks is now known for ambitious photography, provocative typography—and neon inks. Earlier this year, WIRED introduced a wholesale redesign, its first in five years.

Join Scott, as he talks about the process of reinvention, the challenges of photographing geeks, and the Law of Optical Volumes.

About Scott Dadich
Scott Dadich came to WIRED in 2006 to oversee design, photography, illustration, and typography. After his first year, the magazine won a prestigious National Magazine Award for General Excellence. His September 2006 cover with Stephen Colbert was named Best Celebrity Cover by the American Society of Magazine Editors, and his 2007 redesign was hailed as elegant and provocative.

Previously, Dadich was creative director of Texas Monthly. During his tenure in Austin, the magazine was nominated for 14 National Magazine Awards and won for General Excellence. He has received more than 50 national design and editorial awards. In 2005 and 2006, the City and Regional Magazine Association named him "Designer of the Year," and Print named him one of the "20 Under 30" breakthrough visual talents in the world. A native of Lubbock, Texas, he lives in San Francisco.
