PANEL MODERATOR :: MICHAEL BRITO

Social Media Strategist for Intel

Michael Brito, Social Media StrategistMichael blogs, communicates and builds relationships with other people. He Tweets actively; so much that he has written a personal Twitter Manifesto. He believe that marketing is good; and if you love your customers they’ll love you back and tell people about it. He believes that business results are critical but should not be the driving force behind connecting with people. He believes in being real, authentic and human. He believes that consumers are real people with real passions, and we should start treating them that way.

He is a recovering direct marketer. He have learned that conversations are more valuable than conversions; even though they are more difficult to measure. He refuses NOT to have fun at my job, and is a social media strategist at Intel.

Michael is currently on the Interim Board of Directors for the Social Media Club, as well as an advisor to IZEA. He is a member of the Blog Council and sometimes blogs there. Additionally, Michael is the founder of Conversations Matter; an enterprise social media blog.

Brandon Bergmark oversees regional sales at Fox Interactive Media’s Photobucket, the premier site on the Internet for uploading, finding, and sharing digital media to over 3.2 million domains monthly, making it the visual hub of the social networking world. Prior to joining Fox Interactive, Brandon ran sales for NBC Digital in the pacific-northwest, and over a seven year period at AOL, he held executive marketing, sales, business development roles. Back when ‘social networking’ would have meant meeting up at a bar after work, Brandon held sales positions at Fox Networks, MGM Television, and Cox Broadcasting.

Susan Kuo, Gaia OnlineSusan Kuo is the Director of West Coast Sales at Gaia Online, leading the growth of strategic accounts of major entertainment & gaming studios, CPG, and apparel advertisers. Prior to this role, Susan was the Director of Sales Development at Gaia, identifying and creating some of the company’s top selling integrated sponsorship opportunities

Prior to Gaia, Susan headed up the Sales Development team for EA Pogo, and was responsible for creating and pioneering some of the industry’s first in-game sponsorship offerings and viral marketing programs. In addition to her efforts at Pogo, Susan was also a key player in defining key sponsorship opportunities for some of EA’s top community sites including, The Sims, EA Sports and other EA Online properties. Susan holds a BA in Mass Communications from University of California, Berkeley.

VP of Sales, RockYou!

Lisa Marino is the VP of Sales for RockYou leading all brand sales initiatives for the company. Prior to RockYou Lisa was the National Sales Manager for eBay Motors calling on all major automotive OEMs as well as their franchise dealers. Prior to eBay, Lisa co-founded Cima Systems, a leading fixed operations CRM provider for auto dealers. Lisa started her career in Silicon Valley as a technology M&A investment banker for Montgomery Securities. She earned her MBA from Stanford University School of Business and a BS in Finance from the Wharton School.

Founder & CEO, IZEA

Edward “Ted” Murphy is an energetic, creative individual with a passion for innovation and zeal for change. A serial entrepreneur, Ted has founded six companies since 1994 and has a reputation for disruptive creativity.

Ted founded interactive agency MindComet, the company that created PayPerPost under his direction. PayPerPost was spun out of MindComet in 2006 and later became IZEA.

Ted is largely recognized as the father of paid blogging and the catalyst behind the sponsored conversation industry. Under his leadership the IZEA network has attracted over 265,000 bloggers and 25,000 advertisers and continues to grow.

PANELIST :: ROBERT PALMA

SVP of Sales, CafeMom

Robert is responsible for growing the company's revenues. In his role, he leads CafeMom's national sales efforts, building relationships and working closely with the best brands and agencies in the world. Robert also trains, manages, and supports the rapidly growing sales team.

Prior to joining CafeMom in 2008, he was Regional Vice President of Sales of MySpace, and prior to that he was a District Sales Manager at Microsoft's MSN Property. Robert holds a BA in Finance from Iona College. He lives in Long Island with his wife and son.

As Head of Sales & Ad Operations at Digg, I am leading Digg's advertising sales strategy and building the ad sales organization.

Digg is the largest social news website with over 35 million users who surface the best stuff as voted on by our users across all topics including politics, business, entertainment, everyday news, technology, odd news, images and videos. 

I joined Digg after 7.5 years at Yahoo where I was Executive Director of Sales for the Northwest. Prior to sales at Yahoo, I helped design online ad products on Y! Mail, Messenger, and My Yahoo! Prior to Yahoo, I spent 8 years on the client and agency side, marketing both online and offline. 

I'm excited to help advertisers connect with this incredibly active Digg community. What's most refreshing to me is how Digg is embracing online advertising in innovative ways... asking what if?
