DETROIT'S OWN HISTORIC UNDERGROUND RAILROAD (A well kept secret that most people don't even know exists).

The Underground Railroad Living Museum Flight to Freedom Tour is a "Storytelling" re-enactment of the original passage that operated between 1840 and 1863. Visitors are transformed into passengers on the Underground Railroad and are led to Freedom by a conductor. Visitors are presented with a series of dioramas, artifacts, pictures, and other information that display what it was like during the journey from the slave ships to freedom.

The basement of the First Congregational Church of Detroit was used to hide refugees en route to boats to cross over into Windsor.
