1946… The war is over. England is beginning to throw off the memory of that dark time and basks in the end of a long, hot summer. Sir Henry and Lady Angkatell decide it is the perfect time to invite friends and family for a gathering at their country house, The Hollow, for a long weekend of walking and talking and eating and drinking and laughing. And dying. For someone is planning to add murder to the agenda. One of the Angkatells’ guests has a very good reason for wanting another of their number dead — and they’ll stop at nothing to achieve their aim. And anyone who discovers their dark secret needs must be on their guard, too…
