Baba Ken Okululo is a bandleader, bass player, songwriter, producer, arranger, educator and a pioneer of African folk and contemporary African music.

He was born and raised in Nigeria and migrated to United States after a successful world tour with King Sunny Ade & his Africanbeats in 1984-1985. He founded his first group, Kotoja, in '86, toured extensively both regionally and nationally with great support from Inner Spirit Records and Putumayo World Music. He is proud to mention that Kotoja's music inspired the creation of the Putumayo World Music label and the label's first compilation release, Super Sawale Collection, in 1994.
