One of Chicago's premier dance bands, Ghanatta Internationale mingles the sounds of reggae, Hi-Life, sokous and jazz to create an international cuisine of sounds. Leader Dan Boadi, Ghana's longtime favorite , is committed to establishing African music not only as a source for, but also an important fixture in contemporary world music. Rocambu Jazz displays the various forms of jazz throughout the African and Afro Diaspora world in the earlier years of the twentieth century. A true populist music, early jazz was derived from dance music i.e.. biguines, rhumbas and congas. Be it from New Orleans, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Cuba or the Congo, Rocambu Jazz brings it all together in their very fresh and festive Retro-Afro-Caribbean sound. The Occidental Brothers play classic 60's guitar pop from all over Africa, including Congolese rumba and dry guitar, Nigerian High Life, and South African Marabi. The duet features Nathaniel Braddock on guitar and George Lawler on percussion.
