The Bemis Center is pleased to present knives out — an ætherplough-created performance pastiche constructed of equal parts ancient Greek tragedy, noir thriller, reality TV, and postmodern dance. Complete with live music and floating furniture, knives out toys with the past in an obstacle course that (mis)remembers the process of finding one’s way home.

ætherplough is the performance production company co-founded by Thom Sibbitt and Susann Suprenant with theatre artists Sarah Carlson-Brown and Vince Carlson-Brown. ætherplough brings together writers, musicians, performing and visual artists to foster collaboratively-created performance works.

The mission of ætherplough is to create, produce, and present contemporary performance in Omaha. To that end, ætherplough is dedicated to creating original, ensemble-based performance; producing live arts events showcasing the work of local artists; and presenting out-of-town performance work in order to add context and content to our growing community of artists and — like the local music and art scenes — engage Omaha in the national contemporary arts dialogue.

knives out is presented as part of the ongoing Bemis Center event series Endless Summer, an exhibition-in-motion curated by Hesse McGraw that includes screenings, performances, lectures, architectural installations, dance parties, rock shows, picnics, symposia and hybrids of the above.
