Advanced Chess December 9, 2012

Are you a budding chess master with a ready passion for the strategic thinking required to play great chess? This course will extend students with experience of chess competitions at a school or community level. It would also be relevant to students with NSW Junior Chess League ratings. The program will provide opportunities for students at a range of levels to extend their current skills and knowledge of the game through various workshops on Strategic Thinking - Getting beyond the Basics, Creating Opportunities, Endgame Strategies and Specific Openings, and will culminate in a small Summer School Tournament with prizes. As the two Chess Courses will be run at the same time there is an opportunity for students to change groups should a different level be more appropriate at this time.
