Heidi Strauss performs the world premiere of a newly created solo ohne and remounts Das Martyrium, her critically acclaimed 2002 collaboration with Dora Award winning designer/director Jan Komarek, for her new performance evening Adelheid Solos. Rich in imagery, imagination and mystery, these two solo works create an intimacy between artist and audience, each responding to the push and pull of memory, experience and ¬¬ emotion. Reflecting on this idea of a relationship with history, past and present, the word Adelheid is a loose translation of old high German meaning ‘the shape of noble conviction’ or ‘exalted nature.’ It is the name under which Strauss presents her own work. Adelheid Solos runs from April 24 to 26 at Harbourfront Centre’s Enwave Theatre. Adelheid runs from April 24 to 26 at Harbourfront Centre’s Enwave Theatre.
