The Good Soil Project
The Good Soil Project is an opportunity for offenders to get away from their criminality and go back to basics. At the Project they have the opportunity to learn how to plant and grow their own produce, rear livestock including, chickens, Turkeys and Pigs, and also woodwork. The Project gives the offenders a distraction that wouldn’t otherwise have, preventing them from potentially re-offending, and turning back to drink and drugs. It costs about £35,000 a year to keep someone in prison. For up to 10 people to take part in the Good Soil Project it costs £100,000, and aims to keep them out of prison and out of trouble for good.
