Adam Marek's short story collection, Instruction Manual for Swallowing, was published by Comma Press in 2007. His stories have also appeared in Prospect magazine and in anthologies including When It Changed, The New Uncanny and the British Council's New Writing 15. In 2010, he was shortlisted for the Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story Award, one of the world's biggest literary prizes. He has recently contributed a chapter to Short Circuit: A Guide to the Art of the Short Story from Salt publishing. He is currently working on his first novel.

"Marek's fabulously meaty, funny writing makes the short story look really exciting again, pulling you, frame by frame, into a bright, strange future" - Maggie Gee

The evening is hosted by the creative writing programme at Edge Hill.  If you would like to know more about our courses, please contact the Enquiries Unit on 0800 195 5063.
