1214 Queen Street West
Toronto, Ontario

Two of the three pending condo projects in the Queen West Triangle are being accepted by the City as approved by the Ontario Municipal Board (Bohemian Embassy and two towers for the 48 Abell site). Regarding the third, (Westside Lofts), there is an appeal argument scheduled for October 12 that might lead to a re-hearing at the OMB. Six other condo projects in the triangle are in the works, and awaiting approval.

The Active 18 Steering Committee has endeavoured to stay informed and present our concerns about the deficiency of park space, the density of developments, the exodus of the creative community, the net loss of jobs in the area, and the demolition of heritage buildings like 48 Abell. We've had limited success across the board, but are still hoping we'll make some progress on parks and affordable live/work studio spaces.

We want to let the community know what's going on at this crucial point in the process.

We are inviting city staff and politicians to be present to answer questions as well.
