This four-week workshop Intensive taught by award-winning writer, actor and director Margo Hall, will focus on basic acting techniques with an emphasis and goal of actors reaching full emotional potential as well as confidence in the audition and rehearsal process. This four week workshop will also concentrate on text and scene work. The lectures, readings, discussions and exercises are designed to enable students to feel uninhibited in his/her acting. Risk taking theater requires actors who are not afraid of taking risks. Margo will teach actors how to be honest in their work through basic acting skills.

Margo Hall is an award winning actor/director/playwright. She is a founding member of Campo Santo and has been blessed to have directed, performed and collaborated on several new plays with many amazing artists such as Naomi Iizuka, Phillip Kan Gotanda, Jessica Hagedorn, Octavio Solis, and Denis Johnson. She was last seen in Chinaka Hodge's "Mirrors In Every Corner" directed by Marc Bamuthi Joseph, and in Marcus Gardley's A World in a Woman's Hands for Shotgun Players. She most recently directed The Story, by Tracy Scott- Wilson, a SF Playhouse/Lorraine Hansberry Co- Production. She has performed for Arena Stage, Olney Theater, and Source Theater, in Washington, D.C., the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, and locally at ACT, Berkeley Repertory, Magic Theatre, Brava!, and Word For Word. With Campo Santo Margo has appeared in Jessica Hagedorn's Stairway to Heaven and Fe' in the Desert, Naomi Iizuka's Hamlet: Blood in the Brain, 17 Reasons (Why) and Polaroid Stories. floating weeds by Philip Gotanda, References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot by Jose Rivera, Bethlehem by Octavio Solis, and Hurricane by Erin Cressida Wilson. Margo has been teaching at Intersection's Alternative Theater Institute for several years and also teaches acting at Chabot College, and current at the University of San Francisco. Margo received her MFA from Catholic University in Washington DC.
