In Winter 2012, for six weeks from February 4-March 10, Ann Arbor Civic Theatre will repeat the highly successful hands-on workshop on acting and analysis. This course teaches the Practical Aesthetics Approach designed by David Mamet and the Atlantic Theatre Company. It is highlighted by a common-sense, objectives-based analysis coupled with realistic living in the moment. This acting class is designed to give the students practical techniques to take away and use immediately. The workshop is taught by A2CT's own Glenn Bugala, who directed A2CT's critically acclaimed productions of Our Town, Tommy, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Front Page, and A Little Night Music.

Who should attend? This class is designed for all levels! If you've never acted and want to learn acting techniques that are simple and really work, this workshop is for you. Even if you took the session before, refresh your knowledge. If you've been doing this acting thing for a while, but you've not figured out what to do after learning lines, this workshop is for you. For that matter, if you are a veteran actor looking for simple and practical techniques in analyis, this workshop will be for you too. Class size will be limited to allow participants to work the craft in assigned scenes.
