Acoustic Guitar Concert with Matthew Montfort/William Coulter Trio June 25, 2009

This double bill showcases two renowned acoustic guitarists. Ancient Future leader Matthew Montfort is a world music pioneer, and this concert is the Santa Cruz CD release party for his debut solo CD, 'Seven Serenades for Scalloped Fretboard Guitar.' The recording showcases his groundbreaking work on the scalloped fretboard guitar, a special modified instrument able to produce ornaments more characteristic of the sitar. William Coulter is well known for both his classical guitar skill and his knowledge of folk music from around the world. His guitar work is featured on the Grammy winning recording, 'Henry Mancini: Pink Guitar.'
