The 3rd Annual Academic Conference on Israel, free to the University of Michigan community as well as the general public, aims to provide an academic forum that is conducive to a productive dialogue about a variety of the complex issues related to Israel. Issues to be addressed at this event will include (but are not limited to): Israeli politics, the Arab-Israeli conflict, LGBT and civil rights issues in Israel, Israel's contributions to the enviornment and agricultural technology, Ethiopian Jewry, Russian immigration to Israel, women's rights in Israel and also the issue of military ethics. All of the details (schedule, speakers, etc) are not yet complete, but you can check out the program details from last year at www.israelconference.org.
