Aim of Aberdeen Girl Geek Dinners?
Aberdeen Girl Geek Dinners have 3 main aims...

- to raise money for our local charity- Breast Cancer Care. The money doanted to Breast Cancer Care is used to provide services in Aberdeen to women with breast cancer.
- to give like minded 'girls' an opportunity to talk about technology over food and drinks.
- to make technology accessible and interesting to all age groups and all people.. no matter what age, gender etc.

Background!!

Aberdeen Girl Geeks was setup in February 2009 as a result of some girls geeks (Sheryl Newman and Morag Duncan, both of the Easthaven Group) being frustrated that there were no networking groups in Aberdeen specifically for people with an interest in technology to get together with like minded people and to share information. They both wanted to find a way of regularly raising money to support Breast Cancer Care as each of the female staff in the office had mum's, aunties, or sisters affected breast cancer. The women affectedhad benefited greatly from the help and support received from the Breast Cancer charity.

Organized by Sponsored by Easthaven Group
We are very fortunate to have the Easthaven Group as sponsors for this event. The staff at Easthaven have organised this event and have been very generously supported by the company in terms of time, resources and other support.
