Abbey Rode, the South's premier Beatles tribute band, will be playing at the brand new Abbey Pub in West Houston. There's no cover, so be sure to join us.

About Abbey Rode
First things first: the members of Abbey Rode don’t look like the Beatles. They don’t dress like them or talk like them. Not even close.

But when the lights go down and Abbey Rode takes the stage, they sure do sound like the Beatles – and that has been the band’s primary goal from day one.

Abbey Rode came together in early 2004, when Bill (drums) placed an ad on www.houstonbands.net for other musicians to form a Beatles tribute band. “The very first thing we all agreed on,” says Bill with a laugh, “was that there would be no wigs, no costumes and no accents. We would just be ourselves. But we would do everything possible to recreate the sound and feel of each Beatle song, without using tapes or backing tracks, and try to capture the energy and excitement of a live Beatles show.”

With three experienced and accomplished musicians rounding out the group – Harris (guitars), Clint (guitars/keyboards) and Jay (bass) – and with all four members sharing lead and backing vocals – Abbey Rode has what it takes to deliver on both fronts. The band is a musical and vocal powerhouse, able to play faithful renditions of songs from all eras of the Beatles’ catalogue, everything from early hits (“She Loves You”, “Can’t Buy Me Love”) to the psychedelic years (“Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”, “A Day in the Life”) to the later years (“Get Back”, “Something”). And the songs are played with an energy and enthusiasm that keeps the crowd on its feet, singing along and calling for more.
