AARON DUGAN / JEFF ARNAL DUO:
Guitarist Aaron Dugan and Percussionist Jeff Arnal create musical tapestries with granular, shifting, multi-colored sounds. Dynamically and stylistically diverse the duo streams sound from musical memories - the blues, Webern, Go-Go, free jazz, squeaky wheels and middle school dances. Their first CD "Dog Day" will be released on C3R Records n June.

Drummer / Electronic Musician Brian Chase (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Electro Saxophonist Seth Misterka (of Sexy Champions / Dynasty Electric) create mind bending improvisations and electro-acoustic soundscapes for your listening pleasure. Their self-titled debut CD is being released in Australia in June.

"Dugan's guitar work radiates in Laswell's mix and his sound is a foundational pillar for Matisyahu's magic" William Glasspiegel, Pop Matters. Aaron Dugan is a guitarist and composer originally from Philadelphia PA who relocated to New York City in 1998. He studied Jazz at Bucks County Community College and received his BFA in Jazz Performance at the New School for Social Research in Manhattan. Aaron has written music for his own projects Astro-Cusion, Ducarriganigan, Jungulungularity, Sevenseventeen, Senor Salty Balls, Roots Tonic as well as other original projects. He has performed with Bill Laswell, John Zorn, Susie Ibarra, Ikue Mori, Maya Dunietz, George Garzone, John Lee, Ori Kaplan, C Rayz Walz, So Called, Zeena Parkins, Shizad Ismaly, Tim Keiper, Brian Marsella, Seth Misterka, Amy Carrigan. He has been touring, co-writing, and recording with Matisyahu for four years. He's recorded three albums produced by Bill Laswell.

"Percussionist Jeff Arnal's balletic sense of time and imaginative deployment of color have combined into a highly original concept" Philip Clark, The Wire. Arnal frequently performs and collaborates with a wide range of musicians and choreographers in the U.S. and Europe. He studied music with Milford Graves at Bennington College receiving his MFA in 2000. A native of Georgia, Arnal moved to Baltimore, MD in 1991 to attend the Peabody Conservatory and later study composition with Stuart Saunders Smith. In 1994 he began making experimental films at the University of Maryland receiving a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. He has received grants and fellowships from Meet the Composer and Art Omi International. Recent performances include deSingel (Antwerp), Improvised and Otherwise (Brooklyn), German Nordwestradio (Bremen), Music at the Anthology (NYC), Roulette (NYC) and the Music Gallery (Toronto). He can be heard on a number of independent record labels including Cadence Jazz, Creative Sources, Leo and Public Eyesore. 2006 releases include Transit (Clean Feed) and Rogue States with Gordon Beeferman (Generate). Arnal is a co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Improvised and Otherwise Festival, an annual experimental music and dance festival in Brooklyn, NY.
