On February 27th Country Joe McDonald will be playing a Woody Guthrie tribute show at Cafe Du Nord to help raise awareness for Huntingtonʼs Disease and the documentary A Ride With Matt. Also performing will be Mark Silber, Eric and Suzy Thompson, Adam Austin, Allen Kaufman and Peter Chung. Joady Guthrie will be giving a short word about his father and Huntingtonʼs Disease. There will also be a trailer screening of the feature documentary “Out of the Pit: The Fight Against Huntingtonʼs (formerly “A Ride With Matt”).

A Ride With Matt is a joint feature documentary about Huntingtonʼs Disease and charity fundraising effort. The documentary is the story of the Austins, a family living and persevering with HD. It starts as a cycling adventure across the East Coast, with Matt Austin, a young man in his early 20s with HD, and his uncle Adam. From there it grows into the story of the familyʼs struggle and survival with the disease, following Matt on visits with doctors at UC Davis who are researching possible treatments and a cure, as well as other members of the family coping with HD. Fundraising efforts will go to completing the film and all proceeds will be donated to HD Centers of Excellence, in support of research, care and all the hope-inspiring efforts of the HDSA.
