A Walk along the Historic San Francisco Shoreline

When gold rush arrive in 1849 San Francisco’s coast line looked much different. But as time went on, the bay was slowly filled in, leaving us now the current coast we know and love.

This month’s walk will take us along the original shoreline of San Francisco’s downtown. We will start at Market and First Streets, walk up Samsome and Montgomery to the new shoreline, back along the Embarcadero, ending up at the Ferry Building.

We will get a chance to see how much the coast has changed in the last 150+ years,

Meet at the south east corner of Market Street and First Street
