Harnessing the creative talents of some of Sydney's most dynamic and prestigious playwrights, A View From Moving Windows is inspired by train journeys to and from the thriving and vibrant geographical centre of Sydney, Parramatta.

The second 2012 True West production, A View From Moving Windows is playing at Riverside Theatres from Thursday, 18 until Saturday 27 October.

Playwrights are Donna Abela, Vanessa Bates, Jessica Bellamy, John AD Fraser, Noelle Janaczewska, Nick Parsons, Teik-Kim Pok, Emrys Quin, Alison Rooke

Each superbly observed vignette promises to be a revealing and surprising snapshot of life from Sydney’s West, ranging from the rich inner life of a commuter’s imagination to the diverse experiences resulting from running shoulders with fellow travellers. A View From Moving Windows celebrates the unusual in the everyday. With a cast of fourteen actors directed by Augusta Supple, this project was created by nine playwrights each taking multiple train trips to Parramatta over a two month period. Three of the playwrights have recently been awarded AWGIE awards (Australia Writers Guild awards).

On Wednesday 24 October there is a special event for Playwrights with a Q&A with the writers following the show.

Accompanying the playwrights’ lyrics is new music from Aria Award nominee Jessica Chapnik, who collaborated with Ben Lee on the Sound Track for The Square. Under the name Appelonia she is recording an album in LA. Chapnik is married to award winning singer/songwriter Nadav Kahn, formerly part of the critically acclaimed bands Gelbison and The Kahn Brothers and together they have produced cutting edge music for A View From Moving Windows.
