A Taste of the Holidays

Start the season off right Saturday November 20th at Country Village in Bothell. The event starts at 10:00am where you’ll learn how to make fresh cedar garland. Help wrap the light poles and porch posts with your creations, or give a hand decorating the eastside’s largest living Christmas tree and you will be entered to win an original Santa sculpture by local artist Dennis Brown. All of the 40 shops will be decorated for the holidays.

Enjoy on-site Raku pottery demos at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00pm. Watch artist Brian Somers glaze hand-thrown bowls followed by the amazing process of transferring the glowing bowls from kiln to smoking chamber to water bath, freezing the brilliant colors of the glaze. Or make your own keepsake Raku ornament for a small fee.

Sample complimentary hot roasted chestnuts from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Finish the day with a wine tasting featuring 20 Washington wineries, each one located in a different shop. Proceeds benefit the Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation and tickets are required. Tickets can be purchased through www.npacf.org for $20.00 (includes ten tastings) or at the check-in booth the day of for $25.00. Signed bottles of wine will be for sale and available on site – what a wonderful holiday gift. This is a BYOG event (bring your own glass).
You’ll love this wine walk as you wander through the festive shops, thousands of lights, and whimsical lit displays featuring our marching ducks, fiddling pig, forty foot sea serpent, and lots more. Visit www.countryvillagebothell.com for more details or call 425.486.4578.
