Bridge Productions premieres staged readings of two new one-act plays featuring top local talent in the Waring Jones Theater at the The Playwrights' Center.

HOME FIRES BURNING by Todd Hughes, directed by Carin Bratlie. A young southern woman on the edge of marriage to a war-damaged man in the 1920's. Female factory workers unite at a Boomtown bar. In the midst of Cold War, a mother and daughter face off in the family bunker. Follow nine women through five decades of war-time loss and love in these and other stories.

TALES OF HORROR FROM THE BIBLE by Stan Peal, directed by Zach Curtis. A nun is held hostage by a group of shadowy strangers. The group's ringleader battles with the holy woman over the Bible, bringing to life poetic, visceral scenes from the Old Testament. The storytelling culminates in a recounting of their very souls.
