Free "Senior Prom", For Those 50 and Older, Comes to The Jazz Heritage Center on Monday, October 24, 2011

What: Dance to the tunes of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s on Monday, October 24, from 6-11pm at "A Senior Moment, Dancing Down Memory Lane." It all takes place at the Jazz Heritage Center, with dancing in the Koret Lobby; a live performance by The Silver Fox Blues Band next door at Yoshi's; and an awards and wine reception at Lush Life Gallery. The event is free for people 50 and older, $20 for those under 50.

The awards presentation will celebrate the work of senior community leaders. Honorees include Ms. Betty Hammond from the Western Addition; Ms. Espanola Jackson and the late Ms. Eloise Westbrook, both from Bayview. They are being recognized for dedicating their time and talents to their communities. Performing at the ceremony is Lady Mem'fis and her band.

A Senior Moment, Dancing Down Memory Lane is sponsored by Village Project and the Bayview YMCA.
