The Allsar Quartet performs four works for string quartet by Arvo Part, an influential contemporary composer. Part, an Estonian, was inspired by his conversion to Russian Orthodoxy to write spiritual music, both liturgical and personal. He describes this style as tintinnabuli, or the ringing of bells, and it clearly recalls early music. Enjoy this exploration of the work of this great modern composer.
